On March 12, the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Baotou City released the price monitoring report of key industrial products for February.
In February 2025, among the 36 industrial products closely monitored by the Bureau, 19 products such as aluminum, copper, and neodymium metal saw an increase in prices month-on-month. The prices of two products, including monocrystalline silicon and photovoltaic modules, remained stable, while the prices of 15 products, including pig iron, polypropylene, and magnesium, decreased. Year-on-year, the prices of 11 products, including aluminum, hydrogen fluoride, and praseodymium-neodymium metal, increased, whereas the prices of 25 products, including rebar, polypropylene, and magnesium, decreased.
In the rare earth sector, the prices of rare earth products all rose month-on-month, with six products seeing an increase and two experiencing a decrease year-on-year. Among the eight rare earth products, all showed an upward trend month-on-month. Cerium oxide recorded the highest month-on-month increase, with an average price of 8,563 yuan per ton, up by 674 yuan per ton, an 8.5% increase, and a year-on-year increase of 1,946 yuan per ton, a 29.4% rise. Year-on-year, six products saw price increases, while two products experienced price decreases, with cerium oxide showing the highest year-on-year increase.
